🦅 The Legend of the Eagle of Liberty — "The Great Eagle of the Republic"

📜 Historical Context

During the American Revolution (1775–1783), the thirteen colonies were in a bloody struggle against the British Empire. George Washington led a tired, hungry, and morally shattered army.

The American troops were freezing to death. Washington, in despair, isolated himself in the forest to pray.

And then it happened: As he prayed, a huge scream cut through the icy sky.

A giant bald eagle — of supernatural proportions — swooped down from the sky and landed on a nearby rock. It stared at Washington, flapped its wings with a thunderous roar, and let out a scream that echoed across the valley.

🕊️The Meaning

Washington interpreted the sign as a divine omen of victory and freedom.

Legend has it that he told his officers:

"This eagle is not just a bird. It is the spirit of freedom that soars over America!"

And in that cold winter, Washington's men were reborn in courage. The eagle was seen frequently over the camps. Whenever it appeared, morale rose and victories followed.

It is said that after the final victory over the British, the same eagle was seen flying over the independence ceremony in Philadelphia, landing briefly on top of a flagpole—as if sealing the birth of the republic.

Since then, the "Great Eagle of the Republic" has become a spiritual symbol, inspiring:

• The official coat of arms of the United States

• American currency

President Donald Trump used patriotism as a central pillar of his administration, defending the United States in terms of national sovereignty, security, and cultural identity. Throughout his term, Trump often positioned himself against external influences and policies he deemed harmful to American interests. His nationalist rhetoric and emphasis on "America First" reflected an aggressive approach to defending U.S. values and interests, especially in the economic and military fields.

The internal sovereignty of the United States of America is grounded in the supremacy of the Federal Constitution and the resilience of democratic institutions operating under a system of checks and balances. Within this framework, the President of the Republic—currently Donald J. Trump, serving his second term—acts as Head of the Executive Branch and, under Article II of the Constitution, serves as Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces.

The relationship between the Presidency and the military establishment is defined both by constitutional provisions and by a republican tradition of civilian control over the military. While prior administrations, including Trump's first term (2017–2021), witnessed episodes of institutional strain, the U.S. military ethos has consistently reaffirmed its loyalty to the Constitution and its adherence to political neutrality.

In the current context of 2025, amid internal challenges and a shifting federal balance, the Armed Forces continue to uphold institutional values, thereby contributing to the stability of the democratic regime and the preservation of constitutional order.
